This programme explores the natural tensions in a family business between the family system and the business system which often leads to tension and conflict - especially as the shareholder base widens - and the different stakeholders in a family business arising from ownership and management.

The range of stakeholders in a family business is illlustrated by the diagram below. Each has a different perspective, as does one generation to the next. By recognising these differences and putting in place a “system” that manages the potential conflicts, family businesses can build on their inherrent strengths.
